AQUIFER

300 feet wide and 80 feet down to the water's surface, the centuries old karst aquifer is immense. Reminicent of a mini rainforest, with towering banana trees, lush ferns and historic oaks.  The surface of the aquifer is in bloom most of the year & the water underneath crystal clear. We've been told that in the past cave divers explored the connecting underground caves & Indian artifacts were discovered.  We were happy to welcome the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation specialist to tour the aquifer and complete an analysis of it’s native plants.

Unfortunately, when we acquired the property it had been neglected for decades. We removed the discarded tires, garbage & anything else you’d imagine in a dump. Now award winning photographers capture the beauty of this geological marvel, it’s nearly impossible to fully explain the tranquil feeling it evokes as you stand at it’s brim. It’s been proven to be a place of healing & we’re thankful to share it with guests who travel throughout the world to experience it & visit the boutique farm.

VANILLA ORCHIDS

We’re pleased to share that we have been named the Greenhouse Vanilla Specialists in a collaboration research project with the University of Florida, as well as featured in the “Greenhouse Grower Magazine.” We’re growing and sharing our experience on how to cultivate a vanilla orchid, that up until now, has not been produced in a greenhouse setting in the United States. Our unique, and soon patented design features hanging trellis’ with automated water wise sprinklers, misters & a cooling wall system. The water from our aquifer has been a valuable resource as the orchids are thriving. Nature has inspired us in so many ways and it’s only fitting that the Vanilla lab was created in an aesthetically pleasing environment that also cultivates a feeling of tranquility and wellness.
